This kid-friendly snack idea comes from our reader Belinda P., of Marceline, Mo. Here's what she says of her Cheerios Bars:
"This dish is from the family reunion we have every year. It is my sister's recipe, and we all raved over it. It is now a must at our reunion. Kids love them, too."
1 cup sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 jar (18 ounces) creamy or chunky peanut butter
4 cups Cheerios cereal (any kind)
1. In large saucepan, bring sugar and syrup to a boil.
2. Turn off heat; add vanilla and peanut butter. Stir until smooth. Add cereal and stir until well coated.
3. Spread in 9-by-13-inch pan, cut into squares, and serve.
