Our Grandkids’ Favorite Recipe Contest Winners
Editor's Note: We love milk shakes, especially when they're thick and rich. This recipe, submitted by Angela H. of Altoona, Ala., is actually healthy, as it incorporates fresh fruit and protein-packed peanut butter. We're tempted to try it for breakfast!
Here's what Angela had to say about it:
"This is one of my favorite memories! When my grandchildren were very young, I decided to let them 'help' me make a snack. I set out a variety of ingredients and let each one chose what he or she wanted. We had a messy table and messy clothes, but I didn't mind. This recipe is the one we decided we liked best. My grandchildren are in their teens now, except for the youngest two, but they all still enjoy the shake, and we make it frequently."
2 medium bananas
1 pint strawberries
32 ounces chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry ice cream
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk
1. Peel bananas and rinse strawberries.
2. Place all ingredients in a blender and process until thick and smooth.
