7. Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars (1976)
Hitting seventh, James Earl Jones, Billy Dee Williams, and Richard Pryor co-star in this John Badham-directed comedy that's set in 1939. It centers on the activity of a fictional Negro National League team; the League was in reality a starting point for players like Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and Roy Campanella. In the film, several stars of the team walk out on the penny-pinching owners and try to go it alone. Funny, energetic, and original, with a rousing finale, and a bit of history in the mix.
