| In my opinion as long as a child reads,it does not matter what the subject matter is as long as it is age appropriate.

| I just want to recommend a book, "Free to Be You and Me." My children enjoyed it and it just came out as a 35th aniversary edition, with a CD, so the kids can sing along. Unfortunatly, my grandkids missed out on it, but I just purchased it for my great grandkids. It's by Marlo Thomas.

| I agree, Marlo Thomas' Free to Be You and Me, a modern classic, is excellent. I too certainly agree with the other two comments. Larry Welch

| For little girls of overnight camp age or a mother-daughter reading group, JEMMA HARTMAN, CAMPER EXTRAORDINAIRE by Brenda Ferber is a must. Through the eyes of a fifth grader preparing to go to camp, the reader see her fears and how she copes. When at camp she struggles with adjusting and creating friendships. Dealing with problems becomes a good lesson to discuss in a group forum
