| Some comment that 'if they had known grandchildren were so much fun they would have had them first. I can't say that because I have only one daughter; and I enjoy every minute of our time (even the ones that didn't make me a happy camper). I became a widow when our daughter was ten. When she was 17 I had an arguement with colon cancer. She meet the young man that would become my son-in-law; and I was blessed with the birth of my 1st granddaughter on October 18,2002. On February 14, 2006 I was gifted with my second granddaughter Brooke Marie. My son-in-law was killed in April of 2007 coming to the defense of a woman who was being abused by a man. My older granddaughter says 'her daddy was in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.' A young man has now come into the picture and loves the girls very much. I now have a third granddaughter Adriana Ann who will be 1 on August 15. I like my oldest granddaughter's statement of how I can love 'my girls' the same but different. 'I was born first so I got in your heart 1st; then, I moved over so Brooke could get in; and then, Brooke moved over so Adriana could get it.' To say I am grateful every day is an understatement. The laws may be fact in many ways, but my granddaughters live in my home so I interact with them differently, but I ask God's peace often so I can allow my daughter to be the fine parent she is and not let my own wants and desires get in the way. I had my turn; and now, I can be grateful each day and enjoy the adventure. Never be too busy to give thanks for these perfect gifts from God.
