Pick up an ice cube with a piece of string? Yes, you can!
Here’s how to do it:
1. Place an ice cube in a glass of water.
2. Dangle the end of a piece of string on top of the floating ice cube and sprinkle salt over it. Wait five seconds.
3. Pull the string up to lift the ice cube out of the water. When you put salt on the ice, it melts a little bit of it, which the string absorbs. A few seconds later, that water refreezes, bonding the ice cube to the string.
