To your inquisitive toddler grandchild, car trips — whether to the local ice cream parlor or the post office — are anything but tedious. To them, a jaunt in the car can be a little adventure ... if you make it. Pop in some of their favorite toddler tunes, get them swinging their feet and bopping their heads. And, give these ideas a try.
Start a sing-a-long: Make up a new-and-different alphabet song. Think of the funniest A, B, C words you can on the fly. Your toddler will explode with giggles.
Point out the landmarks: Show them the sights as you drive along. It may be familiar to you, but it's likely new to them, so soak up some of their excitement. Get inventive, and make a game of it. Try ‘Count the UPS trucks’ or ‘Count the taxi's'. Go with what works to keep them bebopping all the way.
