Our Top 10 Breakfast Recipes of All Time

The greatest morning meal ideas we've ever published, as determined by you, our readers

by Kristen Sturt

We knew you loved breakfast casseroles, but we didn’t know just how much, until now. A whopping four casseroles made the list of our Top 10 Breakfast Recipes of All Time, a delectable collection of the most popular morning dishes ever to appear on Grandparents.com. As for the rest – from belly-pleasing baked goods to excellent egg dishes – we're positive you'll go gaga for them, too.

So, what are you waiting for? Pull up a chair, pour a cup of coffee, and start planning your next family weekend treat:

10. Pumpkin Muffins
Perfect for early autumn (or anytime, really), these gourd-geous treats from famous baker Sarabeth Levine are full of warm spices and topped with crunchy sunflower seeds.

9. Popovers
These delicate, puffy baked goods come straight from poet Maya Angelou. Made with just five ingredients, they can be served for breakfast, or as a light snack.

8. Baked Huevos Rancheros
Faith Durand transforms this traditional Mexican egg dish into a smashing casserole, without sacrificing any of its signature zip

7. Sausage Souffle
Submitted by reader Laurene B., this finalist in our Breakfast Favorites Recipe Contest wowed us with its savory flavor and make-ahead ease.

6. German French Toast with Applesauce
This straightforward yet superlative French toast recipe becomes extra special with the addition of lots and lots of tangy applesauce. We promise, you’ll never need syrup again.

5. Doughnut Muffins
Sometimes, combining two of your favorite foods doesn't quite pay off. (Sushi Ice Cream, anyone?) That's not the case with Doughnut Muffins, eminently dunkable treats you and the kids will polish off in record time.

4. Cinnamon Roll Breakfast Bake
Imagine a warm, flaky cinnamon roll, oozing sweet and gooey cream cheese icing. Now, imagine a bunch of them, all baked together in a casserole. Hungry yet?

3. French Toast Casserole
Sent in by reader Marilyn from Connecticut, French Toast Casserole uses extra-absorbent challah bread to soak up the sugar and spices. Make it a day ahead, and serve to rounds of applause.

2. Breakfast Casserole
This special-occasion casserole is filled with healthy vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, and bell peppers, but doesn’t skimp on the cheesy goodness we all expect from a breakfast bake.

1. Cherry Coffee Cake
Far and away our most popular breakfast recipe, Cherry Coffee Cake, submitted by reader Marlene K., was also the grand prize winner of our Breakfast Favorites Recipe Contest. She serves it for Christmas brunch, but it's outrageously delicious any time you want to give your guests something special.
