B is for Baking © 2011 by Susan McQuillan
When you think about baking, nutrition isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind – moist cakes and creamy pies are. Happily, B is for Baking (Wiley, 2011), a new Sesame Street-themed cookbook by Susan McQuillan, combines the very best of both worlds, producing 50 baked treats as tasty as they are wholesome.
But this book’s not just for grownups – with characters like Big Bird and Elmo guiding the reader through each dish, kids can pitch in to help make their own breakfasts, dinners, snacks, and desserts. There are even nutritional tips and tricks sprinkled throughout the recipes, delivered by Oscar, Rosita, the Count, and friends, all of which make B is for Baking – as well as the kitchen itself – more appealing to children.
