Although her granddaughters have moved on from their small elementary school in Pekin, Ill., Grandma Jean, grandmother of four, is still there in her hometown — and she is the teachers' most reliable volunteer. Jean believes the children need her — and she needs them right back. So she gives her time and her love to every school activity from the popcorn committee to the PTA.
