An art history lesson turned game in an adaptation of the classic card game
While traveling through Europe in a VW bus with her husband and two young daughters, Wenda O’Reilly quickly learned that kids don’t share the same affinity as adults for long museum tours. With a whole summer of gallery-trolling ahead of them, Wenda was struck with inspiration and quickly turned highbrow cultural lessons into an exciting, kid-friendly game. Go Fish for Art was thus born: a card game that borrows the rules and premise of traditional Go Fish and combines the fascinating and enriching lessons of art history. The decks are now carried in major museum shops around the world and have since expanded to topics like wildlife, nature, and the environment. A deck of her original Go Fish for Art cards is available in categories like Renaissance, Impressionist, and Van Gogh and Friends.
