Grandchildren create their own dazzling, customized kicks
Heidi Klum reminds us each week that in fashion, "one day you're in, and the next day you're out." But when your grandchildren design their own pair of tennis shoes, they will want to be seen in them every day (until they have outgrown them). The Keds Studio at Zazzle.com has two different sneaker styles to choose from — lace-up or slip-on — and an array of colors and patterns with which to adorn the new kicks. You can even upload a photo to use as part of the shoe's motif. Nearly every other shoe part, including the binding, stitching, insole, and tongue, is open to your grandchilren's customization. Design a pair together online, and if you're duly inspired, there are adult sizes available, too.
