Rocknoceros: Pink!

Our Review

Rocknoceros is a three-piece, pop-rock act from Washington D.C.; its members are Coach Cotton, Williebob, and Boogie Woogie Bennie — but don’t let their silly names fool you — they are hardly amateurs. Pink! is the trio’s third album, and its full of lively, well-crafted pop songs that provide instruction and fun at the same time. The swing-music sounds of "Basic Training" are paired with lyrics about the benefits of physical exercise, "Don’t Give Up" is a fast and clever song about welcoming a new baby brother or sister, and the Beatles-esque "Can You Tell Time?" quickly explains how the world of clocks guides our every day. Tunes such as "Virginia" and "Lucky Lindy," might be a bit difficult for younger kids to follow; but, on the whole, Pink! captures the fun and whimsical ways of early learning in a simple and wholesome presentation.
