The Draw:
This resort on Lake Teedyuskung in the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania has skiing nearby in winter, golf and hiking in summer, and an indoor forest playground for toddlers. The resort's large guest homes are great for family reunions. Jim Puliatte, of Norwood, N.J., has spent vacations here with his children and grandchildren for 25 years, and says, "Woodloch is like a cruise ship on land. It's extremely safe, clean, and run by the same family for several decades. They are always on hand to help out, and have activities for all ages, day and night: barbecues, carnivals, movies, arts, and crafts."

Insider Tip:
Always contact the hotel in advance to reserve baby gear and arrange for babysitters.
