If your grandchildren are already swinging from the chandeliers, take them to Tree Climbers Internationa (TCI)l. The organization teaches courses in safe tree-climbing practices, including guidelines protecting climbers and preventing injury to trees. Introductory climbs are offered at the Founders Grove twice a month (clement weather necessary). TCI supplies the equipment, helmets, and rope. All climbers have to do is dress in loose clothing and light shoes and learn how to move the knots along the safety line. Take photos to impress all your friends with your newfound skill; if you fall in love with the thrill of floating among the leaves, sign up for certification courses.

Info: Introductory climb $15 per person, groups larger than four call ahead

Hours: Vary

Age: Elementary (5-9), Tween (9-12), Teen (12+)
