This children's-only bookstore is more than just a place to shop; it's a destination. Blue Manatee features more than 20,000 books, all chosen by the owners and staff, with cozy nooks in which to read them. Customers enjoy story times and special events, including visits from such notables as Jan Brett and Jon Scieszka. There are art, yoga, and music classes, and the restaurant features book-themed smoothies for kids, coffee beverages for adults, and health-conscious snacks (vegan and gluten-free when available) for all.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday 9:30am to 8pm, Sunday noon to 5pm

Age: Tdlr./Pre-Schl. (1-5), Elementary (5-9), Tween (9-12), Teen (12+)
