If you're interested in taking your grandkids for fresh food and plein air shopping, Eastern Market, open every day but Sunday, should be your first stop. For more than 200 years (100 and counting in the current location) Eastern Market has been the place to procure the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats. The convivial, child-friendly atmosphere makes it an excellent spot to introduce the grandkids to the fine art of haggling with vendors (as well as the trick of choosing the best fruits).
