The bad news is that in the years following the premature retirement (in 1998) of Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, the Detroit Lions have struggled to win more than a handful of games in a season. The good news is that a trip to see the team play at home is still fun for you and the grandkids. The Lions left the Pontiac Silverdome for their current downtown home at Ford Field in 2002, and the change of scenery has been beneficial, at least for the spectators. A plethora of concessions for halftime (or any time) and a cool layout means that time away from your seat isn't time wasted. Tours of Ford Field are also available. The hour-long tour puts you in the locker room and on the field, which some kids will think is pretty cool.
Info: Game tickets $40 to $70; Tours: Adults $7, seniors and children $5
Hours: Vary by game; Tours: 11am and 1pm, June to December, Monday, Thursday and Friday; January to May, Monday and Friday
