Four gritty teams made up of pivots, jammers and blockers comprise the Detroit Roller Derby scene, which is short on manners and long on hard-hitting and trash-talking. There's a reason that they're called bouts and not games, and these free-wheeling women will show you a full contact sport that is decidedly from the other side of the tracks. It’s a bit edgy for every kid or grandparent, but those who like it will love it. The season runs from February until July, with an all-star travel team competing against other teams in and out of state. All bouts are at the Masonic Temple unless otherwise noted.
