From Forrest Mars, the man who brought you the Mars Bar: Welcome to Ethel M. Chocolates (named after his mother), a see-through candy factory with a tour that will make you and your grandchildren crazy for chocolate. Many of the Mars family recipes and methods are used to create these one-of-a-kind confections right on the premises, where you can view the whole process. Of course, there are free samples at the end of the tour. Right next door, next to the Cactus Garden, you'll find the Living Machine, where more than 32,000 gallons of water is recycled every day in a facility that mimics the processes of the natural wetlands to clean all the wastewater from the factory. The reclaimed water is used to wash Ethel M.'s delivery trucks and to water the Cactus Garden.
