Located less than an hour outside of the city, Rancocas is a serene oasis of towering trees and native wildlife in the middle of the Jersey Pine Barrens. There’s a recreated 18th century village to explore, hands-on exhibits, including live reptiles (cool!), and a birder’s trail operated by the New Jersey Audubon Society. Ask about ongoing family programs like butterfly safaris and night hikes.
