Take the grandchildren on a two-hour trolley tour led by docent-artists through different Philadelphia neighborhoods. Get the stories behind dozens of colorful murals that adorn public spaces around town, an initiative first started in 1984 as a way to fight graffiti and blight. The Mural Arts Program has produced more than 2,700 murals throughout Philadelphia — more murals than any other city in the world. Older grandchildren might enjoy touring by bike.

Info: Adults $25, seniors 65 and older $23, children 3 to 10 $15, 1 and younger free

Hours: Tours vary; Every Saturday and Sunday April to November, 12:30pm; Every Wednesday May to November 10am

Age: Tdlr./Pre-Schl. (1-5), Elementary (5-9), Tween (9-12), Teen (12+)
