Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

The scenic drive over Highway 17 to Santa Cruz is a must for one reason: the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It's a great place to take your grandchildren, like a sanitized version of New York City's Coney Island. There are roller-coasters, video arcades, food, games of skill (we hope you remember how to play Skee Ball), and everything else that a good beach boardwalk should have. For those who'd prefer something a little more peaceful, the calm waves of Monterey Bay are just a few feet away. The Boardwalk isn't open year-round, only in the summer.
