Spend the day with your grandchildren soaking up the sun on one of the few remaining undeveloped islands in Florida. Caladesi Island usually makes it on any list of the top beaches in the United States. The island is only accessible by ferry or private boat helping to keep the crowds to a minimum and allowing lots of elbowroom for exploration. You can bring all your gear from home or you can rent chairs and umbrellas for the day. Kayak Rental is also available. The ferry fee is good for a four hour stay at Caladesi, but you can then return and spend the rest of the day at honeymoon Island.

Info: Adults $9, children 4 to 12 $6, 3 and younger free; $5 per car

Hours: Daily dawn to dusk; Ferry: Daily 10am to 3pm

Age: Tdlr./Pre-Schl. (1-5), Elementary (5-9), Tween (9-12), Teen (12+)
