Four Indian Kings
For real American history, here you go — an interesting story to share with your grandchildren. To commemorate the Treaty of Paris, which ended the American Revolution, an exhibit highlights the earliest surviving full-length oil portraits of four Native Americans. From June through early August, take your grandchildren to the esteemed performing arts center, Wolf Trap, to see specially produced family-friendly performances called "Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods." There are more than 70 performances including music, dance, storytelling, puppetry, and theater. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended since many performances sell out. In September, Wolf Trap holds its International Children’s Festival, a weekend of cultural performances, crafts, and an Arts and Technology Pavilion.
