Demetri is my first grandchild. He is 9 months old, I sometimes just look at the wonder of him at how perfect he is and how much joy he brings me and I get all teary eyed. He could just be sitting there doing nothing, and I just well up. Anyone else get this over emotional?

Victoria is my first grandchild. She just turned a year old. I just look at her and overwhelmed with love for her. I get tears in my eyes when she cries or is upset, because she is always so happy.

Hayden is my first grandchild when he was very small I would hold him and yes I would tear up just thinking of the wonder of him, as he got a bit older my DH and I would talk about how we NEEDED to hold him to make us feel better no mater how bad our day was going. We called it a "Haden fix" and now he is almost 4 and I have 2 more grandkids evey time I hug them or hear them say "I wuv u sooo much", my heart just swells and I can feel tears that want to come out, The only time in my life I ever cried tears of joy was at the birth of my grandkids. Words can not express the love I have for them

Yes,I get emotional when I marvel at the joy my Angellina Joy brings into my life, and I cry when I see her loving heart come out,and the confidence and pride in herself is shown. I love my daughter dearly, but she does not instill these values in her children, and I am so proud of her when I feel her little arms go around me,and she definitely is my joy.

Hi! oh yes how many times I felt lke my heart was going to explode from happeness, How Desi would run over the hill with her littlearms wide open, and Dakota was so proud when i would fix her hair for school a little glitter in her dark hair, the smile on those faces, the mamaw this bed feels so good I would tuck her in every night she was with me and I did all I could to make sure that was most every night.I suggest you hold those little ones of yours as much as you can, and I can tell from your letter as long as you do you are one happy person, the old man upstairs most certainly smiles on you and yours c.j. I am a new grandma and moved to another town to be close to my daughter and granddaughter. I am so blessed and happy that I chose to move and can see my adorable Caitlyn every day. My heart melts when I look at her. I am grateful every day. Today I cried again because I am so joyful. She is so precious. She is only 5 weeks old.

Reading your description of the emotion you feel and the response you have brings tears to my eyes. I am waiting for my grandson to make his apprearance on this stage of life, but I can just imagine my response to him will be very similar to that you describe! I am thrilled that you can feel so deeply about your grandson and consider you very blessed to respond in the way you do.

The good Lord decided I was unable to have children of my own. But my dearest friend shared with me the experience of watching and sometimes helping her daughter to grow up into a beautiful young women. Even though we aren't related she has called me Aunt since she learned to talk. My Neice met and fell in love with this wonderful man who had a daughter of 2 years. My neice tried to get her to call me Aunt also but this little angel decided I was Grandma. Which made my heart swell with so much joy. When the next daughter arrived just as special and beautiful as her big sister I was there at the birth with the 2 biologial Grandmothers. I can tell you there was no difference in the happiness, joy, wonder ,awe and all the other emotions the other 2 Grandmas felt. We now get to experience all those wonderful emotions again as there is now a little brother on the way. My heart swells everytime I hear their voices call me Grandma and run to me with their arms spread wide for a hugs and kisses. The Lord has blessed me so very much for such a wonderful and dear friend her beautiful daughter, her husband and my 3 Grandchildren. kapdep

Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes! What you are experiencing is thr right and beautiful thing! I have a four-year-old grandson and a nineteen-month-old grandaughter! Praise the Lord! I thought I had experience joy and love often in my life, but there is absolutely nothing that can come even close to a grandchild! They are so grand; they are the world. If you are like me, you'll never be able to stop the welling of tears of joy, thankfulness, and love. If you didn't well up with tears, that is the time when I would worry about your being a "real" grandmother. To tell you the truth, not all grandmothers are REAL grandmothers! My precious children had a real grandmother on their paternal side, but not on the maternal side. Be a joy and inspiration to your little one! Your letter screams loud and clear that you are a real one. Happy days for you and your grandchild!

When I hold those babies I do sometimes cry and I always thank God above for blessing me the way he has.Sometimes my "Harmy" touches my cheek and says " oh grandma" and my heart just melts, and the smile on celina's face, the biggest smile ever. I cant wait now for the third baby, I must have done something right to have been so blessed from the man upstairs.

And guess what? That emotion just keeps growing! I got to spend yesterday with my 6yr. old grandson, Logan. I wasn't expecting him for the day, so he had to go with me as I ran a couple errands. As I'm driving down the road, he told me how much he loves me (as he frequently does!), and asked me for a big hug. What could I do but pull off the road, get out, walk around to his door, reach in and give him a BIG HUG! And as I got back in, buckeled up and drove off, my reward was a, "You're the coolest Grandma in the world!"

I'm so thankful to have found this site, and to know that other grandparents are as in love as I am. I often cry just to think of my precious ones, 4 1/2 yr old girl, 9 mth old boy and our very special "angel", who was only with us March 19-March 21 2006. I am grateful for each moment with them and am so glad I only live an hour away. Would love to be in the same town so I could be there to step in for my daughter and s-i-l during the week. Do any of you ever feel sad for them to grow past the babyhood days?
