With my 2-1/2 year old grandson, a day in which he's had a nap and is pleasant is a "perfect" day. Otherwise, he's a total brat.

With my almost 8-year-old grandson, a perfect day is going to the movies in the morning and having popcorn (doused with lots of fake butter and salt) and soda for breakfast. Then we go to our favorite frozen custard place and have the large vanilla cups with crushed Oreos for him, hot fudge for me, for lunch. Next we go to PetSmart and look at all the pets for adoption, then the fish. Afterwards, we just go where the wind blows us until I think his mother might want him home again.

My grandson, who is 10 years old, is away in England for the summer visiting his mother who lives there but when he is here, I have him every week-end as he lives with his dad. We usually do not do much but when we can get out, we usually do lunch and a movie or sometimes we go to Chuckie Cheeses and the Santa Monica Pier and hand out. But most of the time, we just spend that quality time together lying in bed together watching DVD's that we both like and sometimes I even play video games with him on his X-Box 360. I miss him so much but get calls from him and my daughter almost daily. My daughter is also expecting her second child in January and I am heartbroken because I cannot afford to go their for the birth. She will be coming next summer to see her son graduates from elementary school so I will be able to see my new grandchild then.

Our grandson is 13, but still likes to spend time with us and I treasure every moment of it. A perfect day for him is to go Vantage Point on the St Clair River for a bagle with cream cheese and a Carmel Cafe coffee. We sit and watch the frieghters and private vessels go by. Then it's fishing with his grandpa off the pier. They spend the rest of the day doing that and smell like fish when they get home. Being a grandparent is one of Gods greatest gifts. jma

With my grandson, 7, it is perfect when we "experiment" - do projects to find out how something works, or why it reacts, or just discover something new - one thing leads to another and we both stay intrigued. Of course ,then there is endless ball playing in which the 4 year old joins in, and time out to read a favorite story and include the 20 month old sister. It is fun to reflect after the day on each individual personality and what they contribute to making our time so special.

A perfect day with my 7 year old grandson starts with him climbing in bed with me and turning the Disney channel on. He likes the Einsteins and their music. When we get up, I will make him a slushi using pears and ice. Then we will sit and read together taking turns with his favorite book by Dr Suess. Lunch time is making sandwiches together. Then we will play Guess Who? or Deal or No Deal. He really likes to play board games. He also likes to sit with me if I do cross stitch or any other craft. He wants to help. When dinner comes, he wants to be in the kitchen with me and will ask to help with the cooking. As long as we are doing things together, it is always a perfect day together. SeasideGrandmaBee

For two days my (almost) 3 year grandson told his dad he wanted to go fishing with Gandma. He also said that mama had to stay home. Well I took a day and we all went fishing (even mama). The fish were biting pretty good and he caught 4 or 5 himself. Everytime he reel one in he would bring it to me and in that excited 3 year voice say "I got one Gandma I got one". I would take it off the hook for him and he would put those little arms around my neck and give me a big hug. Later we had a pic nic lunch which he fed to Cheese Puffs. I could not have ask for a more perfect day. mamamud

Once a week I try to cook a meal for me, my granddaughter, my daughter and my mother. Due to me being a disabled Vietnam vet, I don't do it as often as every week anymore, but I still love to do it when I am able.

A great day with my granddaughter is when we cook together. I am a grandfather, that loves to cook. My granddaughter thinks my cooking is the best, and we have started a cookbook of recipes that are her Papaw's. She and I cook together (9 years old) and I always make one ingredient to be the "secret ingredient" so it makes her feel even closer that she is in the know of her Papaw's recipes and especially knowing the secret ingredient.

Now this is truly not lying to her, as in most of my recipes, there is one ingredient that gives it the taste that sets it apart from most recipes, and I don't give my recipes away often, but when I do, I usually leave that one out (yes I'm terrible, but I still do it).

Anyway when we are cooking together there is nothing better or makes me feel closer than when she is excited to cook with her Papaw. There is a closeness that I can't explain, but we both are so excited to share this one special thing, that we do together. I think all grandparents should put together a cookbook to leave with their grandchildren, so when we are gone, they will have a part of us, that not only they can keep doing, but one day maybe even share with their own grandchild.

THey love jumping in and out of the water and watching it splash. On hot day,s you can't keep them out of the water. Let;s me work on my tan too!!! What a better way to spend a Saturday (or SUnday) afternoon!!!

Just being able to spend time with my my grandchildren is a perfect day. It doesn't matter if we go shopping or go out to eat, just being able to be with them and showing them that I love them with all my heart is the perfect day. brwnidbettyboop

My grandson, Kai, is only 8 months old so there isn't much planning our days yet.. But when it's just the two of us, it's a perfect day. He keeps a huge smile on my face the whole viist. This kid melts my heart.

I watch my 17 month old grandson, 2 days a week, at his house, and everytime I watch him, it's more perfect then the next. We wash clothes, count, color, eat, snuggle, watch tv., take naps, play ball, make pretend phone calls, and the best time, is when Mommy and Daddy come home, and he doesn't want Mimi to leave....now that's a perfect day!! sunprintz

With 21 month old Emma, anything we do makes it a perfect day. We cook together, making cookies or dinner, we play outside, we have tea parties, we cuddle and nap together on the recliner and we watch Bindi the Jungle girl together.

We love shopping together. Her first word at 9 months old was "Walmart"!

She even makes pooper scooper duty fun!
