Brag Book Ideas

Help! LOL, My Brag Book is filled! Grandson is only 7 weeks old, Granddaughter is only 1 week old. I'm going to have volumes in just a few months if I keep up at the rate I'm going now. Thank goodness I don't print all of them, I'm taking about 30 pictures a day (not everyday, but almost) and only pick one or two to print each day.

I've got a digital photo frame that I keep loaded with the babies pictures for showing off here at the house. I've got a digital photo key chain to carry with me, but the screen is too tiny for my friends to truely see the pictures.

I suppose it's time to move the pictures from the Brag Book to full size Photo Albums, to allow space to add new pictures to the Brag Book.

What do you do with your mounds of wonderful pictures of your Grandbabies? Photo Albums? Scrapbooks? or ???

Hugs,
Gilly's Gma

Since our oldest granddaughter was five years old we have had digital cameras and everything is on the computer. One of these days... my famous last words!... I'm going to download them onto discs so I can pop one in anytime. One of my friends here at work has downloaded (uploaded?)photos of her grandkids and runs a continual slide show as a screen saver. I haven't taken the time to do it. I don't print too many off, but I try to keep the ones I do print updated. Otherwise - get lots of photo albums! Isn't being a grandma great? Just can't ever get enough of the little ones.

Gillysgma, I think moving some pictures form the Brag Book to photo albums is a great idea. Then you can keep changing it as time goes on. As for me, I do a number of things -- some snapshots are in my "Grandma Journals," others in albums and still others in frames in my home. My daughters have a lot on their computers, of course. There's also a photo of my grndd in each of the Family Tree books that I made for my girls b/c she was born before I finished them. And I hope they'll each add a picture of my grndsn, too. First of all...back away from the camera. Put it down s l o w l y and no one will get hurt.
Seriously GG- I have an office/craft room in my house, and I just push pin all of these photos into the wall in no particular order. When I'm in here, I am surrounded by their faces, doing activities we did together- I have a photo album with one really good picture for each year. I wonder if they have support groups for photo junkies. :)

It sounds like you need to invest in a bigger digital photo frame, as well as more photo albums. I like the idea from mrsrev about setting your screen saver to a slide show of the pics in your computer. But let me add, you are truly blessed if your biggest problem is where to put all the pictures of your grands. LOL.

04/03/09 @ 08:55 PM

LOL, well you all have me pegged and thanks for the giggles! I don't know if there is a photo junkie support group, but if there is... I'm sure I'd qualify for the board!

I need to get a portable digital frame and invest in lots of batteries so I can show them off to my friends! Michaels craft store is opening on the 26th of this month, sooooo lol I'm sure I can put together some fun photo albums for the printed pics.

My office wall space is limited, I've got alot of pictures, letters, flags and such from my adopted troops. I moved my big office into a smaller room of the house to make a Grandbabies Nursery and Guest Room for their parents when they come to visit. Ooooh!!! NURSERY!!! I can put their pictures up in their in poster frames (so there are no pins for safety). That way the babies will always be in the Nursery, even when they aren't here! PERFECT!!!! Thanks for shaking loose a brain cell!

Thanks Bunches!!!

Meant to say I think the screensaver idea is great, too. Little do your grandkids know as they eat and sleep, eat and sleep, their grandmother is already crazy in love with them! Fredi fredigram

They may not realize that as they eat and sleep we're already crazy in love with them, but they sure know in a hurry that we can be suckers for a sweet smile and a big hug!

I purchased 3 HUGE 16" Plastic Easter Eggs, that are designed for Yard Decorations. There is no doubt, I'll be having to find some large space here to store my Photo Props for the kiddo's. I think it will be fun to watch the babies outgrow the huge eggs.

Today, we went to the Community Easter Egg Hunt! Out of the 53 photos that I took, I love 9 of them. Some with the Easter Bunny holding him, he slept. Some with all the Easter Eggs and a couple of precious ones with his Mommy helping him grab up a few of the Eggs.

Our local Grocery Store (Basha's) has a Grandparents Club, signing up will get a small FREE 1st Birthday Cake! Cake + 1 year old = tons of great pictures!!! LOL You might want to check your local Grocery Stores, they just may have a similar program. There was a Cookie Club years ago at Von's Pavillion stores in California, my kids loved going to the store with me to pick out one cookie!

EACH GRANDCHILD HAS ONE OF THEIR OWN I HAVE HERE. GOT THEM ON SALE AT KOHLS FOR A BUY 1,GET ONE FREE SALE AND BOUGHT 7 OF THEM AND GOT 14 NOW. WAS I SMART OR WHAT . OH, MY FAVORITE SITE HAS THESE LITTLE CLOUSD AND THINGS THAT ALLOW YOU TO WRITE SOMETHING IN WHEN IT IS NEEDED FOR THE PHOTO.

SimplyShy!!! PERFECT idea to put the CD with in the Album! WHOOHOO, I'll definitely do that!!! Hopefully, I'll find a good sale on Photo Albums soon.

A long time ago I had some foot surgery done, I was bed ridden for a week or two. We had boxes of photos that needed to be put into albums. After the surgery it was the perfect time for me to get the job done. I had stocked up on Photo Albums previously in preparation for the surgery. I filled over 8 albums, and Hubby was so impressed he ran out and bought me a few more New Albums. Sooo, if any of you have any surgeries that require bed rest, you may want to use the idea. It worked for me!

I was thinking that YOU guys, who are soooo photo savvy, could help others here to use our BRAG pages, but also to snazz up their Profile pages with an uploaded Profile photo and also some photos here of grandkids!

I noticed that mrsrev recently uploaded a great photo! Let's see if we can all encourage our Grandparents.com friends to introduce themselves to us by uploading photos! What do you think?

I take tons of pictures too of my 20 month old and 1 week old granddaughters. I keep a few in a brag book that I carry around and the ones I print go into albums, that will be theirs one day.
