1st day of school mixup

my 5 yr. old twins started school today & ONE OF THEM GOT ON THE WRONG BUS HOME. THE SCHOOL CALLED TO TELL US BUT HE WAS STILL ALONE. HIS DAD GOT TO THE SCHOOL SHORTLY AFTER THE BUS RETURNED HIM TO SCHOOL. THEY ARE TO GET OFF THE BUS AT MY HOUSE SO WE WERE WAITING CAMERA IN HAND TO GET PICS. HE ARRIVED WITH DAD JUST BEFORE THE BUS SO WE TOOK PICS AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. YOU COULD TELL HE WAS UPSET. NOT CRYING BUT JUST HOLDING ONTO DAD. SHOULD WE LET THIS GO & NOT MENTION TO HIM ABOUT MAKING SURE HE WITH BROTHER & SISSY, OR KNOW HE WILL BE VERY CAREFUL & FOR US NOT TO MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT. I REALLY DON'T THINK HE WILL LAEVE HIS BROTHERS SIDE AGAIN. HIS SISTER WANTS TO GO TO THEIR ROOM & GET THEM EVERYDAY [ SHE'S 5TH GRADE] BUT I THINK TO LEAVE IT ALONE IS BEST.

Hi NAPCALP: . . he was probably sooo scared he won't do that again . and he'll stay by his brother's side.

That happened once to 1 of our kids, we really didn't make a fuss about it, they called us & we got to the school OK . . . we just briefly mentioned it, to make sure our child got on the RIGHT bus OK the next day ---and it just never happened again. ( once is usually enough , they're so scared they learn real fast) . . If other siblings are allowed to go get their younger siblings as soon as school is out, that's fine too. . . Or just tell him to stay with his brother tomorrow. . . I'm sure things will be fine , after the 1st few days' school jitters' are over. (".")

We were in Berlin Germany in 1989, the year the wall fell. Our youngest was in kindergarten at the time. The German bus drivers were not into keeping an eye on who gets on and off. Not their job they said. So when he didn't get off the bus one day we started worrying. He wasn't held over at school, etc etc. It took a concentrated effort on the parts of the German Polizei and Military MP's to find him. He had gotten on the wrong bus and was clear accross the city at another bus stop. Some good hearted German folks found him standing there very confused and took him to the nearest MP station about a mile away. In a city of over 3 million we were very grateful to say the least. He had been missing approx. 5 hrs before we got to him. Scary stuff to say the least.
Don't forget folks, this makes great story lines for the "groups" section. This discussion board is closing down today. So please keep it going and find a group like "The Family Storybook" and keep it going!!

Thank you for "plugging" The Family Storybook, KSMeMa, but I closed it Sunday night, due to lack of interest/activity. However, if anyone has any stories, poem, etc they would like to write, please remember, there is still the group, Grandparents Who Write.

But Napcalp, while we're talking about groups, there is also one for the parents and grandparents of multiples that you might enjoy. If you're interested, just key MULTIPLES into the SEARCH box (above, right) and you'll find it.
