In my opinion, the Groups provide the best way to interact with other grandparents with similar interests or in similar situations. I'm increasingly concerned about the many grandparents I meet on the site who barely get to see their grandchildren, due to distance or estrangement. One of the ways I know of to combat this loss of connection is to record favorite family stories or colorful descriptions of relatives you knew/know and love. Then you can show these things to your grandkids if they seek you out when they're older. In this way, they can still" get to know" you - and your side of the family - despite the long separation.

On the other hand, such a record might mean just as much to grandparents who see their grandkids more often. Sure you can tell them about your beloved grandmother, etc. But they don't always pay close enough attention to remember the details and pass them down to the next generation, etc.
