Yes grandparents have favorites, but it should not be to an extreme where the grandchildren see this, because hopefully you will love each grandchild and note how each child is special. Yes grandchildren have their favorites too, my oldest grandson told me, "I enjoy our time together granny, I even like you." He was only 3 years. Out of the mouth of babes.

Funny - my husband and I were just talking about this last night at dinner. I made him criss-cross that we
DID NOT have favorites. I really don't feel like we deo - I love them all equally and for their individual wonderful qualities. BUT.... and this is a big but ... I see my sister and brother-in-law with their grandkids; my husbands parents; my parents; it was painfully clear to me who their favorites were. I just hope if it ever happens - someone who loves me (a dear true friend) will call me on it.

Oh my gosh...this topic through the eyes of my 8 yr old granddaughter came up last month. I had 2 sons so was so excited to finally have a girl to buy pretty dresses and fun make up for. But...she lives in Maine and I live in Ohio. I also have a 4 year old grandson who lives 30 minutes away. My grandson's mommy is pregnant. My granddaughter was in town visiting and she said "Mimi, do you want the baby to be a boy or a girl". I said I didn't really have a preference since I have one of each.
That was not the answer she wanted. From her tone and body language I realized she did not want any other girl in this family, she wanted to be my only granddaughter. Her other grandmother has 3 granddaughters. So, I said you what honey, you will always be my favorite because you were the first girl, and Brady will always be my favorite because he was the first boy, and the baby will be my favorite because he/she will be the youngest. She smiled and gave me a big hug. Little did she know....she is my favorite.
