As Grandparents we keep three of our five grand children two days out of the week---we have a daily
routine---since their parents are divorced we help out
with homework for a 5yr old who is in kindergarten and learning to count to 100 and also his 10 series of numbers(10,20,30-etc)another one who is 7 and in the 1st grade learning to spell and solve double fact addition problems--and one more who is 11yrs old and in the 4th grade whom PawPaw and Granny Gla try real hard to help with his Perimeter and area of Triangles and basic Geometry---Keeps Us pretty sharp oh by the way they are brothers----we keep them over night and make sure they are ready for school the next morning---showers, clean clothes, breakfast and any last minute emergencies and then we say a daily prayer board Grannys SUV---CHECK TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAS THEIR BOOKBAGS---HOMEWORK----SNACKS AND THAT THEIR SEAT BELTS ARE FASTENED AND OFF WE GO TO Montrose Elementary School here in South Charleston West Virginia---If that don't keep a Grandparents mind sharp I don't know what would---Do you????
We are both in our 60's and work part time through the week----we have both retired from our jobs and receive pensions, Grand Children are LifeSavers in our Book---Parents don't know that yet , not until they become Grandparents.

It is great to hear about all these active and some working grandparents. The crosswords and all are good, but the best thing is physical activity. I have read this in medical newsletters, but I still have trouble motivating myself.
