What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?
Are you kidding? Everything - except for the fact that my grand children do not live near me. That's a real heart ache for me. When I do get to visit there is such joy that wells up in my heart. When my first grand child was born it was instant love. It just came. I have older step-grand children as well. I love them, too. I have a very special relationship with the middle step grandson. He calls me sometimes for advice. When he visits we have our private converstions. He joined the armed forces because of his grand dad and me. We are very proud of him.
If you want to get to know me, I would start by telling you...
Since this is the internet, I'll be brief. I am 68 years of age at this moment, but in April that figure will change. I am a retired business owner since 2001. My husband has retired three times, but I think this is it. We are blessed to live in the South in the country. I was always a city girl, but took to country living like a duck to water. I learned to ride a horse and own one in my forties. I love animals. I used to raise chickens - layers for their eggs. I think the most awesome chore this ol city gal ever did was push a cow's uterus back in her body.
