What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?
Spending time with the child and being apart of there growing up.
If you want to get to know me, I would start by telling you...
I have one grandson and a grandchild on the way. My son lives very far away (seems like the other side of the universe). I'm looking for ways to stay in touch and still be a good grandparent. They lived close to me for the 1st year of the babies life. I work at a day care and took him to work with me every day. I would visit him during the day and at lunch time. I can't tell you how much it hurt to let him go. We don't have a lot of money and the plane tickets are not cheap. I wish we could find a way to see them, but so far it's just not happening.
I've see him only once since they moved in June. Shortly after the move my father became ill and died. I saw them for the funeral and do not know when we'll get a chance again.
Any ideas I can get about how to commuicate long distance with a 1 1/2 year old and a new born on the way would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
