What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?
The greatest thing about being a grandparent, is being a grandparent. At 66, my daughter had her first child, she was 40yrs old and my son in law is 42. I was overwelmed holding him for the first time in the hospital. I never pushed my daughter to have children. It was her wish to get her education and career going before settling down.
After his birth, I had to go the hospital for a knee replacement. Spent one month recouperating and 2 mo healing, then back to my daughters.
Being the fine son in law that he is, he asked me to stay with them and help with the baby. The duration of my stay has been though today, Oct 20, 07 with may be a week or 2 intervals. May grandson and my children are reason for continuing with life, AND, my daughter is going to have a little girl in January of 2008. We are very happy with our little family.
If you want to get to know me, I would start by telling you...
At this time in my life, my goal is to stay as active and healthy as I can. Weight is a concern when one has arthritis, I have therefore, continued to take an active part in my wellness. I swim and excercise 2 to 3 times a week, walk at least the same.
I had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. My first son, has past away at 34yrs old and my second, son, has Reiters Syndrome. A rare form of arthritis that affects the immune system. It is an inherited gene that affects young men in the late teens and early 20's. He had been in remission for a number of years but now at 42, he is basically an invalid, but mobile to a point. He lives near us and I can easily visit with him a few times a month.
My very best to everyone, Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy!
