What is the greatest thing about being a grandparent?

Just being able to know our grandchildren and have them know us. We moved from Alaska to be near the grandchildren. I love the reaction we get when our 2 year old grandson sees us. His eyes light up. He knows Grandma and Grandpa are there to play with him. Our granddaughter is 4 months old and she seems to recognize us too. We get big smiles and giggles and then she "talks" to us just like her daddy did when he was a baby.

The first time I held my grandson, I was amazed at the depth of feeling I was experiencing. The love I felt for that little boy was overwhelming. My husband wanted to know if he was still my first love. I told him yes, but it was a close race. I didn't know my heart could feel so full. When my granddaughter arrived, I was in the delivery room and again was overwhelmed by the feelings of love I had for this little beauty. Thankfully our son and daughter-in-law have made a place for us in their lives, so we can inact with the grandchildren at least once a week.
