You might not need to log hours on a treadmill to see the benefits of exercise. According to one study, a six-second burst of high-intensity activity, a technique called High Intensity Training (HIT), can help lower blood pressure and improve overall fitness. 

Managing joint pain can be tricky, but there is a simple solution: having sex. Not only does sex release endorphins, which helps relieve pain, but it also is a low-impact exercise that helps with pain and reduces inflammation, sex therapist Marty Klein, Ph.D. tells Psychology Today.

Genetics are not the be-all and end-all for how long you live. Some studies found that genetics account for only 20 to 30 percent of your chance of living until age 85, you control the rest. 

Tips: 

Strike a power pose - stand like a superhero for two minutes with your arms on hips for an instant boost in confidence and reduction in stress, says Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist at Harvard Business School in a TED Talk. 

In the words of the Frozen song, let it go. Don't dwell on things that you can't control; instead, recognize that you can control your response to bad situations. 

Find your purpose. In a study from the University of Rochester Medical Center, researchers looked at how people answered survey questions like "Some people wander aimlessly through life, but I am not one of them." People who had a sense of purpose in live lived longer than those without direction.
