Your site and your page here really inspired me! I wanted to let my mom know how important she's been to me whole life, but particularly now, as I experience being a late-life mom to a wonderful little six-year old girl (who people often assume is my granddaughter!) We are busy making memories across this three-generation family and I'm so glad. To surprise my mom, I have written a parent blog honoring her for Bookboard.com (a children's ebook firm that lets me write about family issues as well). I hope my mom loves this and doesn't complain that the photos I picked make her look old (a frequent lament!) She's 80 and looks beautiful to us! Don't you agree? http://bookboard.com/blog/2013/09/why-grandparents-day-matters/

I think there are a lot of great, fun articles and activities here! Of course, I trust that most of my fellow-grandparents know enough not to do/plan an activity with a child, w/o checking with the parents first (unless the GPs have custody).

Meanwhile, please join us, also, in Grandparents Caring for Grandkids in the Community, for a Grandparents' Day Party that's already going on now! Whether you're a GP or not, celebrate GP Day or not, etc., please feel free to come on in and join us! Just click on Community at the very top of this page, then Grandparents Caring for Grandkids and then "GP Day Party! Here! Come on in!" Or go to http://community.com and then Grandparents Caring for Grandkids, etc. Hope to see you there!
