They're not tweens anymore, so you can't give them a $20 digital camera that has a Hannah Montana logo. For their first serious digital camera, try the GE A1235. It has 12.2 megapixels, a super-easy interface with quick auto-focus, and it makes fun chime noises when you scroll through the menu options. It's available in hot colors like red and pink, but it's a grown-up camera with a reasonable price tag — if they lose it at school or accidentally drop it in a fountain at the mall, it's not as huge a loss as other cams could be.
