Since then, 'grandma' and 'grandpa' have been swapped out for trendier names such as G-Ma and G-Pa. More and more modern grandparents are electing to choose a name that is more fun to say and fits their personailty to a tee. Here is a list of some of the trendier grandparent names used today.

P.P.S. Other relative caregivers are welcome, too. As are former and soon-to-be such caregivers.

P.S. ... Continuing from the post below... On a more serious note, I know there are hundreds of GPs (grandparents) today who have custody of their GC (grandchildren) and deal with the problem of those children wanting to call them "Mom and Dad" or "Mommy and Daddy," etc. This is just one of the topics that often comes up in Grandparents Caring for Grandkids, GP.com's support group for frequent and fulltime GP caregivers. Of course, we talk about more lighthearted subjects, too. But if you're raising your GC, helping to raise them or watching them several days a week and/or for long hours, please do come over and join us! It's a great place, I believe, to vent, brag, ask questions or just share caregiving ideas and experiences - all w/o fear of backlash or harsh judgment! Hey, our group motto is that old saying, "Walk a mile in my shoes." :- )

And we're not hard to find. Just scroll to the very top of this page (to the line ABOVE the one with the website title) and Click on the word Community. Then click on Grandparenting and you'll see us! So c'mon over! :- )
