"I have tried many meatloaf recipes over the years, but this one is the most moist and flavorful and easiest of all," says reader Carol R. of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. We can't disagree. Simple to assemble and perfect with mashed potatoes and a side salad, Carol says the dish also makes for "a very welcome gift for someone who is not feeling well."

Still, the best part about The World's Moistest Meatloaf has to be the leftovers. Our meatloaf sandwiches didn't even need condiments – just two pieces of bread and a craving for excellent comfort food.

1 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (1 will be very moist)
1 cup bottled chili sauce (Carol suggests Heinz)
3/4 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or several shakes of Maggi Seasoning (liquid in a bottle)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Mix all ingredients together. Put in 9-inch loaf pan, taking care to level off the top. Bake 55 to 65 minutes, or until middle is cooked through. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before slicing.

Serves 6
